Fight Night Recap
Maximus XII featured carefully curated matches from striking-focused Muay Thai fights to intricate MMA bouts, and the night held two title fights and Maximus Promotions’ first Women’s Muay Thai Championship.
Andrew Priolo v. Martin Ruckschlos
In the first co-main event of Maximus VII, the first-ever amateur MMA title was up for grabs. In the match, California’s Andrew Priolo faced off against Illinois native Martin Ruckschlos. Priolo dominated the tough Ruckschlos, consistently getting him down to the mat and dominating from the top position. Eventually, Priolo secured the TKO stoppage via ground-and-pound and became the inaugural Maximus 185-pound champ.
Teddy Mandala v. Angela Bahr
In the second co-feature of the night, two of the best female Muay Thai fighters in the country squared off in a rematch. 20-year-old Teddy Mandala took on longtime top dog Angela Bahr for the vacant 110-pound title. In an epic back-and-forth war, Mandala avenged an earlier career loss to Bahr. Mandala won via unanimous decision and added another piece of champion hardware to her trophy case.
