Combat Corner Professional Sergio "The Phenom" Pettis Returns to the NAFC Cage
Sergio“The Phenom” Pettis has been one of the most talked about 125 and 135 pound prospects since bursting onto the pro scene back in September of 2011 and has not only lived up to the hype but exceeded all expectations. Sergio is currently undefeated with a 6-0 record that includes two knockouts, two submission victories and two wins coming via judge’s decision, proving that he is a well-rounded mixed martial artist. Sergio’s career has been on the rise and he recently signed a contract with Resurrection Fighting Alliance where Pettis picked up a unanimous decision victory over Jimmy Jones in his debut for the organization at RFA 4, a performance that showcased the diverse skill set as well as poise and discipline out of the young Roufusport fighter.
“The Phenom” was set to have a fight with his current promotion RFA before a knee injury forced his opponent Matt Manzanares to withdraw from the bout that was scheduled to take place at RFA 7 on March 22nd in Denver, Colorado. With no replacement the fight was scraped, however, thanks to North American Fighting Championships relationship with Resurrection Fighting Alliance they were able to loan out Sergio to the NAFC and Sergio will now fight in his hometown at NAFC “Battleground” on March 22nd at the Potawatomi Bingo and Casino in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His opponent was just announced and Pettis will now face Josh “Shortstack” Robinson of Evolution Martial Arts in Ohio. “Shortstack” is 7-6 and has lost his last two fights but his most recent win is over Pettis’ Roufusport teammate Dustin Ortiz in which Robinson won a split decision, something that surely adds to Sergio’s desire to finish his opponent.
As Sergio continues to grow as a mixed martial artist so will the price of the tickets of whatever major organization he is bound to end up in so don’t miss the chance to catch Sergio in action on March 22nd at Potawatomi Bingo and Casino in Milwaukee and get a glimpse as to why he has been dubbed “The Phenom”.
